ARTOUFLAGE
Where story meets canvas
Artouflage is not just a name. It is a process, a conversation, a transformation.
Behind every painting lies a personal story. Whether it comes from memory, emotion, identity or a specific moment.
Just like camouflage adapts to its surroundings, each Artouflage painting absorbs and reflects the essence of your experience, blending the visible with the personal in a way that feels natural, yet deeply intentional. The process is intuitive and collaborative. I listen, ask and observe. I do not simply paint what is said. I respond. A colour, a pause, a movement, a silence.
These elements shape the work. That is what gives each piece its individuality
A custom painting shaped by your story
Each Artouflage painting is made in close dialogue. Together we explore what you want the work to express. Where it will live. Which textures, moods or tones resonate with you. And how abstract or defined the image may be.
From that conversation, I create a visual interpretation. A work that reflects your inner world and becomes part of your space.
They paved the way before you
Rodny Welters, Patron cuisinier at Novo New Dining
Maastricht (NL)

The artwork created for Rodny of Novo New Dining marks an important step in Artouflage's renewed approach. Rodny was the first to experience this new process.
The artwork came to life after an inspiring initial meeting and conversation. The creative process involved using various materials, including vinyl records, which give the piece unique depth and character while also telling Rodny's story. This exceptional work can now be admired in the stylish interior of Novo New Dining, where it seamlessly integrates into the restaurant's ambiance and invites viewers to explore and discover more.

Despite our long-standing friendship and close bond, we agreed that I would offer my candid opinion. We’ve always set high standards for each other’s creations, as you would expect from good friends.
With an open mind, a healthy dose of curiosity, and a good glass of wine, I eagerly awaited what Sarah had in store for me.
The artwork she eventually presented exceeded my expectations.
A modern interpretation of The Thinker, it features a figure deeply lost in thought. However, instead of the traditional pose, the figure leans slightly forward, with an intense look of concentration. A fragment from a work by P. Nolens, reduced to a simple image. To me, the posture suggests not melancholy, as you might expect, but rather deep focus and inner reflection, leaving plenty of room for creativity.
The colors of the artwork are rich and earthy, with green and brown tones that create a sense of depth and calm, perfectly fitting into my interior. The tranquility it exudes is exactly the feeling I seek when I return home after yet another beautiful, busy day. Trust me, I prefer my days like this, days when I’ve fully expressed my creativity and enthusiasm.
The artwork invites me into a moment of peace and self-reflection, a reminder of the power of focus and the beauty of inner silence, creating space for new creations.
For me, you have truly succeeded!"
Anouk, Mind and Body Coaching
Maastricht, NL

"The painting Sarah created for me is exactly what I was looking for, and it fits perfectly into my practice.
Just around the corner from the beautiful Onze Lieve Vrouweplein in the center of Maastricht, I offer mind & body coaching for adults, youth, and children. Together with my clients, I embark on a journey, always taking a holistic approach that focuses on individual needs and tailored solutions.
This painting exudes a serene calm, with a palette of warm colors that harmoniously circle around a central core. The shades range from deep, rich oranges and reds to soft golden accents, which together evoke a sense of security. The composition invites you to get lost in the layered nuances and subtle transitions of color. The painting has created a beautiful, intimate spot in my practice space where you can quietly daydream.
My therapeutic approach has been beautifully translated into this piece of art."
How we work together
Our journey starts with a meeting, preferably in your home, but it can also take place in my atelier.
This conversation allows me to understand who you are and what part of your story you want to translate into art.
Using a personal method I’ve developed over time, I guide you through a creative process. We explore through conversation, visual cues, statements, questions and a moodboard. This helps me gather the input I need to let the creative process begin.
We also look at the space where the artwork will be placed, discuss preferred size and atmosphere. Once I have everything I need, I begin creating.
When the work is finished, we schedule a personal reveal, a moment to discover your Artouflage. Only if you are fully satisfied does the purchase take place. The price is communicated in advance and based on the size of the canvas.
The beauty of Artouflage is this: you only buy it if it truly feels like yours.
Would you like to begin your own Artouflage?
It always begins with a conversation.
You don't need to know exactly what you want.
We will find it together.
Let’s create something meaningful.
